There’s a reader for every book. No matter what you write but all that really matters is how you write. At the beginning when you start writing your new novel you don’t need to worry about anything except those points, dialogues, and incidences coming in your mind. Gradually these things will help you in making the map of your book.

Once your first draft is ready and you think that you have included all the points, dialogues and incidences then start self-editing. This process is very important. It helps you not just to shave your penny but also helps you to have better insight into your novel and its plot and craft.

No matter how many books you have read on book craft and plotting but your book is different. It has its own set of rules and it will go only according to that. Indeed, those techniques, rules and craft which you have read in those books will help you. So you’d better keep them in mind but don’t rely on them right now. First look deep into your story, what it says and write what best you feel.

Soon you will see that your story is getting filtered one draft after another. There is no hurry if your story needs ten or more drafts or it asks you to change your whole idea, as you can see your story better. Yes, it will make you crazy but trust me you are capable to rewrite it thousand times only because you are capable.

As you are sure that your manuscript is ready and all is set at your level now look for an editor. Let him work. Let him get mad at you. Trust me when he will send your manuscript in rainbow colors, simply you will feel crazy but this is what the reality is.

Refresh your mind and restart your work and start polishing all the unpolished.  Your editor seems your dreaded enemy but this is what you have hired him for. This is his job. He knows his work well. Trust him and work further.

If lucky your editor will soon show you the green flag. Normally we go with two types of editors: 1. Line editor & 2. Copy editor. Then there comes the role of a proofreader.

It is just one phase of work which is complete. Now comes the marketing, branding and the best ways of reaching your readers.

Writers often think that there is something like one book wonder and want to see their book on the bestseller list. No, it never happens for every writer. In the writing carrier your patience will definitely pay off, the list of readers and followers will very gradually grow with the number of your books.

Writing is a journey which a writer travels through his words. This journey encompasses several mental struggles in order to understand characters and the way one can choose to react on any given occasion. It takes time to learn.

A writer is a person like any other but his mind works when most of the other minds stop and alone he keeps on working and traveling within his mind. He works in a silence and gradually his visualization becomes the seeing and then seeing becomes a part of life and story weaving becomes a part of thinking.

Traveling is one of the best ways to learn to see. It strengthens the visualization process and makes it easier.

To be a writer you have to travel a lot. Traveling doesn’t mean only physically on the land or sea but also it means traveling with the emotions and experiences of people.

When you sit with a heart that is ready to open and the face that is ready to show the range of emotions then you are also traveling. You are flowing in the undercurrent of his/ her emotions.

This traveling allows you to see and feel the vibrations which you normally don’t experience and something rightly stirs you from within and you feel to write as if you are moving in a flow. Your words are flowing like a small boat in the heavy current of water.

Your mind is busy within the image and hands are busy in giving them words and heart is weaving a craft to clearly arrange it all in an ornamental manner of an art.

Art is life. Art is everywhere and only artist sees and feels this magic.

Learning to giving words is the best what a writer can dream of doing. Learning is always a slow process and it develops slowly.

Writing grows with experience and the more you travel the better you learn to see the human emotions and its complex networking.

Human emotional range of experiences is not simple like mathematic. There are many things hidden and a few surface through instant spill of reaction.

Learning to see and measuring the depth of reaction and the background from where it is arising is often very complex, it is deeper than what is usually seen or understood.

There is no fixed formula. There is nothing like: at any given point of time one can react only like this. It is not necessary that everyone speaks or reacts in the same way. Each has their own way of reasoning and reaction and learning the difference in their reaction makes a psychological journey into a heart of each individual.

When a person is alone and ready to drop all the guards and allowing you to conquer him / her like a king, and at the same time allowing you to be earnest and noble for him or her then the masked face disappears and actual image comes before you.

The idea of listening to someone and to go into their life is one face of a coin. It can also be dangerous as it is hard to go away from his or her range of influence over you. Her influence will always stop you enter into your imagination.

Imagination is the powerful tool that allows you to go beyond what you see and perceive but it always comes after seeing and meeting several diasporas of emotions and characters.

When you are writing, it is not necessary that you are only writing what you have seen. Honestly speaking, you are using only your imagination and voicing your mind through your characters.

Characters that you have picked from your surrounding and then brushed them, reshaped them with your imagination, made them different and finally brought them on paper as new real characters.

Now they have new identity, personality and behavior. They are new persons; they are all your creativity that has made a difference. Interestingly enough, some readers will like it and some will despise. And this is also an experience of a writer.

Career selection is the toughest choice. If you choose to be a writer, then you have selected a tumultuous ocean over a gentle river.

At the beginning before becoming a full time writer you have to have a job so as to foot the bills.

It is indeed a worst phrase of a life when you are to start your day with a run to the office, return home squeezed and there you have to get into the shoes of your characters, and then sleep soon so that you can run tomorrow again.

It is really frustrating and you have to work. You have to bust your butts.

Truth is that all you really want is to go on a holiday near a beach or a mountain and stay there until your final manuscript is in your hands.

It sounds amazing. Life seems worth dreaming.

But reality is stranger than the fiction.

The real problem is to work at the office, get on with the politic and then think about your characters and scribe it.

However, your work place is full of wanted and unwanted characters for your imaginative world. All you need is to see them skepticaly.

Their behavior and the way they create a professional work place can give you a good impression about their life & work ethos.  They have villains’ smile, back stabbing prospect and arrogant behavior to suffocate others’ life as soon as possible.

There is always something happening there, like gossip – extra marital, promotion and whose life is going to be hell.

Life is never simple. One has to be alert while working.

My idea may sound logical – that you are surrounded by writable characters while working and it is fun to write – but practically it is next to impossible to project them, only because you need to clear your desk every day and continue to work at least till the next pay check.

But somewhere in the corner your passion is pushing them all away and grabbing all of your attention to your passion for writing.

It is like a fight between the real characters and imaginative characters.

In fact, our office is like our old house. We don’t have much choice. All is set and we have to adjust and when the situations become difficult we learn to compromise. This compromise helps us to learn further in life.

Learning is like a parachute, keep it open and keep yourself safe – else you will end up in a nose drive.

To write a good novel we need a story, characters, drama, social networking, inner conflicts and then a good plausible end.

Good thing is that you have everything before you, just no time to be so creative and separate yourself from the humdrum of the office drama.

Your employer and your HR are very kind hearted people who have picked all characters for you, one after another.  No wonder that you are also part of this office drama and you can also see your reflection in any of them.

This helps you to be sure that you are not a zebra in a field of horses. Your office is full of people like:

• Egoist: A person who pretends to be wise and strong but inside is very insecure so his/ her insecurity will always make its first move by throwing blame on another to clear his/her desk. They have natural tendency to bully others.
• Temperamental: These set of people are emotionally unstable, hard to understand however they throw all their emotional garbage on you.
• Know all: They are always there to show their importance, knowledge and skills but they are good at nothing except poking their noise in everything.
• Victim: They generally seem to be sad and need your support and basically they will soon totally depend on you which can make your life difficult. They are also less productive.
• Jealous: They are very common in the office and they keep vomiting poison against others and they mostly work as insiders in the office. They are actually not paid for their productive hours.
• Negative: They are the genuine characters who are sad and have half empty approach toward life which is wonderfully called “Dementor” in the J.K Rowling’s Harry Potter series. They really can make anyone sad with their negative thoughts.
• Insecure: They are good for nothing and often people ask themselves why this man is here and what he does. They are there for blame-game. They often blame others for their own mistakes.
• Miss beauty queen: No office can be working properly without them. They are there to keep every employee to reach office on time and keep the atmosphere friendly.

As a writer, you are set on a prefect island that has wonderful shores. Safe your sanity, use your best sense to optimize your creative whim and give the best shot to your writing skills.

Words are the real pleasure. They carry the weight of sad soul and light heart. They transform the sad and alone one into a blessed one. Words are magic, which changes life.

I always dream for this change and my words rushed to let on everything as and when I got an impulse of a right person who rightly dubbed my heart.

Life is just a dream when I let on my heart and flow in its pure rush of emotions. I feel I have someone in my life who is here for me as a divine gift and I surrender my words before him or her.

Indeed, my romantic imagination assuaged a woman who can speak all with her eyes and make me kiss her with my eyes before I actually do with my lips. I feel my imagination is tilling me and my passion is a river needing desperately to meet the ocean of blessed love.

My life seems a big bag of dream where I dream a lot. I worded my heart several times and somewhere, like an unknown, my reality was resting and waiting to enter into my life.

Reality always came to jostle, to break my dreams, to make me bleed with emotions and my wounded soul cried bitterly. But my dreams again enveloped me like a clouds in a sky. It rained over the dried feeling and I soon rejuvenated with spring of love and I feel more strongly to word my dreams.

This is my life and I want it like this only. I want to live with my dreams. Realities of life make me bleed. I know a man can live very happily with his dreams and expectation of sweet dreams.

love to go closer to someone and then in dream I dream again to marry her and call her my wife and mother of our babies. Dreams are really a part of life which promises love and care in life. A sweet dream of happy family is what we all want to see. It is the impulse which never misses to promise that the love which we experience is actually a true dream that makes life worth living.

Life is a big bag of dreams and living to turn the dream into reality is the actual meaning of life. It is difficult to live alone. We need many friends, relatives and our own loved ones. Relation is something worth living for. Relation from heart is the most available thing in life. It is like a flow of a river. It can take many things away but the beauty of flow is always there and that keeps the water clean and beautiful.

Relation is not mathematics. It is not calculation. It is in love where loses can be profit and profit can be loss. It holds a world within it and life grows and slips somewhere within it.

People meet and come closer to heart in several ways and telling about them in our daily talk is one of my big dreams. It is not easy to carry the essence of valuable relation in words but having their presence in our talks helps them to grow more important in life.

My dear you have come in my life and now my dreams are all for you. I need to see this dream for life time. People are important and their presence around us is poetic and mysterious. You give them colours and I love to see them in your light of thoughts. You are my garden where I cultivate several colourful dreams of joy and love.

In silence, words enter into the heart of a writer and he writes. It is really very difficult to say what a writer wants from his writing. Money probable comes first as an answer. Well, money is one thing that can’t be denied in life of anyone. But there is truly something subtler which we miss to see. A writer is a person who goes inside and then loose himself somewhere within his characters and voice everything in the language of this character and not in his own. Once he has entered into his character then a writer is gone and only his character is speaking.

A writer is not writing only for money. He writes not even for pleasure. He works as an independent soul and his pen speaks all about his passion, revenge, despair and even love for beauty. The pleasure of recording life in his book is the most important pleasure which goes above all the material gain.

There have been several anonymous writers who drove their pleasure in literary pursuit which definitely entertained the readers but who gained no credit in their names. They hide themselves from society but the urge to write doesn’t perish. Words find their way to the brim of the bottle and splash reach to the readers.

You can also be thinking that those anonymous writers are mostly offering salacious materials which is partly true. But no one can deny the fact that readers love the frankly written stuff describing all that can ever be thought and imagined. If one can write so well then why go anonymous? Social pressure! Well, it’s not only on writers, look for example at painters and their painting.

In ancient time, not everyone was educated so not everyone could read and go with the shuttle fine essence of a beauty described in a book. But people could see the paintings. So there must be something else that made those writers to go anonymous.

Writing is an art of entering and allowing others to enter a world of a writer’s imagination where everything looks very natural and logical as one finds in the real world.

Sometimes a writer’s life goes on account of so many changes and conflicts that money is just a thing to foot the bills for living. Words that come out in a book is not a mere portrait of his novel’s characters but a self-assertion coming somewhere deep from within.

A writer’s life is an open book but art has shrouded everything into mystery. If one knows the art of seeing then the bare account of incidences, emotional dishevelment and disenchantments will come before him and then in that light it will be easier to know how his creativity summarized his all experiences into his creative works. Life is never smooth for anyone. It always introduces one with several acute and severe pains. If writing is pain, then it is also a solution for all pains that pass in our life especially for those who live and die for writing and refined taste in life.

Writing is where cuckoo learns to crow. A cuckoo is a highly sophisticated bird that has the wonder of getting her work done by others. This capitalist approach in cuckoo is what makes her stand far away from the other birds. She is the cleverest bird, much more beautiful and ornamented than that black crow who unknowingly each time very motherly hatches her eggs. As she learns at the end whom she was hatching, and the real source of pleasure and satisfaction in her life is merely a foolish game played against her and now bitterness is all that is rolling down her heart.

Life is never fair to anyone. Wise become foolish and foolish become wise, rich become poor and poor become rich and each life has its own cry and pleasure. Cuckoo sounds the wisest but she must also be crying in a corner of her heart at the inability to have the pleasure of hatching her own baby eggs.

There is a pleasure in waiting to see her baby to come out of their eggs but fear is always there that the crow who is so motherly caring these eggs will soon be the first enemy for her babies after the bitter truth will abject her life and the despair that her eggs were broken only for these cuckoo’s babies to be born.

Indeed cuckoo feels the pleasure of trumps, a winner. Indeed, winner’s story is different from the loser’s but both stories carry a powerful voice of some good and bad aspects of life. These pieces of voices own the real taste of life.

Every life has a story, a plot, a sub plot, a drama, a spice and all that makes a novel a work of art and transforming the life into the work of art is never an easy try. This process is very shuttle. It needs a very unique voice that can carry and keep the balance of the weight of triumphs and sorrow. It may have the capacity to muddle this humdrum of life into a fine blend of creative energy that can inspire and help everyone who loves reading, who believes in magic and who believes that life is energy and it finds its own way out.

Writing is all about giving voice to these deep shuttle layers of life. Writing is like living a life of a cuckoo and a crow. Then after getting both the experience and knowing the limitation and boundaries that circumcise the life and make an area of living, after learning all, look for the areas of inner freedom of joy in life.

A writer has to own the responsibility to be very detached and see everything within the arena of his personal and impersonal life experiences and run his imagination to reach where cuckoo learns to crow.

World is changing and so is the book publishing industry. No matter what an industry deals with but the intension is all about earning profits and money so the same goes for the publishing industry.

They too promote wisely writers and books which they see as cash cows. So if you are new writer it is not a good idea to wait for your publisher to take all the pain and make you famous.

Everyone who dreams to be a writer always sees his name in the bestselling author’s list. After all dream doesn’t cost anything. But unfortunately writing is all about staying up till late at night and write long.

Have you ever asked how one book becomes so popular and another probably equally good waits for the sunshine? If you really have noted and asked yourself then you will agree that it is all about the personal involvement of a writer to create awareness about his writing, his presence among the readers and informing the readers what this book is all about. In today’s time self- publishing is the right way to learn all about publishing, by doing all by yourself.  When you know you are the publisher and no one else is there who can look after your book then you will certainly look for your best.

A writer uses his emotions to write, to feel his characters, and he enters into the heart and soul of his characters. Emotion is the very point from where he starts. This weaves his entire novel plots and drives him to balance between his characters. Otherwise all will start to react in the same way.

Take for example that a writer is weaving a romantic novel and finds a very natural, jovial young loving characters and he starts entering into their soul. Like us every two individuals are different and any situation brings them closer and they start meeting without thinking much. A writer is also relaxed, feeling good and feeling romantic like his imaginative characters.

Meeting after meeting a fondness increases and walls start to vanish. They both are now ready to let on their hearts. They narrow down the distance between their hearts; indeed, there is still some distance to be covered. Writer knows this. Suddenly one of his characters writes a very emotional piece of message or letter and now the writer is shocked as it was not in his mind that something like that could happen.

In its effect, the receiver of the message gets more involved in the subject and they now start telling each other more. Everything starts changing in their world – a world that is created between their two loving hearts and information about each other’s in deep faith and intimacy starts to spill. Of course all this was to be revealed at some point of time but it suddenly got revealed right now. As the two characters are revealing themselves a writer is getting more tensed because his story is moving fast. He has to take control, but how? No idea.

A writer knows that when you start going into a person you start knowing him or her skin by skin and knowing someone from within is the most difficult part, only because you get connected with him or her in such a way that it becomes difficult to recognize and draw the line from where one starts and from where you start. Line gets too blare. They both get intermixed within their minds. (Here, I may sound pure theoretically but one can experience this only when one steps into another person.)

It is very important that two individuals maintain a distance and slowly step into each other’s hearts and not just get close because of any impulse of emotions. A distance has to be kept and maintained and this distance allows both to live individually. But where do couples want to live individually, where do they like to wait? They usually rush into things. They want to grow intimate. They don’t want to see how gradually the line gets blare between them. The rush of impulse is so high that they are flowing in a current. They are now living in an overwhelmed state.

A writer is silently watching everything, noting everything every minute as if any villain is about to enter into this fairytale like romance. He understands that love is not like any dating site which are full of do and don’t suggestions; follow these steps and recognize your soulmate.

They are soulmates, love just happens, it grows, it evolves and surrounds, and both enter in each other’s heart, not like sex, but with emotion, and make a bond, a promise that a world which is between the two hearts will never end.

Now these characters are so his own that if any unfortunate or misfortune meets them – a writer cries loud as if it is his own pain. A writer is no more distant from his characters. He has also entered into their hearts and living and growing and seeing everything inside out and feeling to love them and give them a better life.

But characters have their own destiny. They are created and nurtured in brain but gradually they are free like humans and can go anywhere they want. A writer is then just an onlooker and a story teller and can have sympathy for his characters but can’t alter their fate. It is the most difficult situation for a writer and this helplessness makes him cry.

I was asked for advice by a friend of mine who is a school teacher and wants to inculcate an interest in reading and writing in young children at her school and in several other nearby schools. Idea seemed very revolutionary. But who will take the responsibility of telling their parents who know the condition: that millions that are born, grow and get old and die without getting an opportunity to get a dignified job? Now education is not to get educated but to get degree that fetches fat salary.

Literature is out of contest. Who wants to waste time on things like this? Who wants to come into a fuss about what literature can do for human? Most of parents have hardly ever liked to meet any writer in their life. If they find a famous one then they get clicked a picture, post on social media and the rest leave for journalist to scribe in their interview column.

In most colleges and universities in the name of education especially in literature professors are trying to just pass their time, somehow complete their syllabus and get fat salary and gossip around and pass time in engaging in work politics.

In such a society who can think that one day any one will like to think about inculcating an idea of teaching reading and writing for school going kids. At first this idea really sounded hopeless and I suggested her don’t burden yourself with such thoughts. If everything goes well, school will get the benefit and the next year school fee will go higher. If something goes wrong your job will be at stake.

… But I find her serious at her decision. She wants to start a literary club; she wants my support and suggestion to implement it on the ground level.

The most important thing to understand is that nobody wants to study. School going kids are piled with a lot of pressure over their head. Study has become a dragon that has fire and flames and from childhood they learn to be fearful of this dragon-like study.

First, it is very important to motivate them to love study and not find it like a dragon. Then let them get into a habit of reading and automatically the power of written communication will increase. They will learn to write slowly but reading habit is a must. Writing takes a little extra time but it comes gradually.

Let start with a class: we can easily find that in every class there are many students who are called back benchers and have less interest in study. Motivate them and breeze this motivational and knowledge gap into them. In each class you can find some students, who are interested to learn new things. Churn out first these students and then the next and the next. This way you will get increasing number of students which will be a motivating factor for you as well.

It is also important to motivate them to work as a team. Give some students to read some books or novels and then ask them to write their opinion on that novel. After that give that review page to other students to edit and then to others to design so the final product is very eye catching and every student gets equal level of involvement and creativity to show.

It is also good idea to have some writing activity and competition in the school and motivate everyone to participate and learn something.

It is very important to start somewhere and get ready to bear the pain and start a good environment for real education and not for just crazy fight for degrees.

When a writer falls in love, he feels as if wind is fondling the grown up paddy fields and whispering as they are ready to meet their destiny for which they have been born. He feels as if leaves are dancing on trees and welcoming the spring and this world is again changing and turning green. There is an energy of change everywhere and one divine energy is regulating and making everything well, giving meaning to one and to all for their wanted existence.

A writer starts dreaming with open eyes about her presence around him and with his closed eyes see her coming closer and closer to him. He is as if waiting for her till eternity and he has been waiting and waiting as rain waits to pour on earth. He is still all wet and shivering for the fine whiff of her presence. She is the one that will complete his living, his purpose of living and bearing all which he is to be done to live for her longings alone.

A writer reads poems and feels that it is all written for her only and he can do better and he wants to write. There is a tempest in his mind and he wants to hold them all to show her what has changed in his being. He is no more the same as he was. He is smiling, not thinking about his imaginative characters, not talking with them anymore, not thinking where this love could lead him, and just talking in his head with his love.

She has succeeded in arresting him and he just wants to be as a slave and walk behind her wherever she wants to take him. For her he is there and in deep within feelings are telling him that she is the only one with whom he longs to live and die for her only. She is the center of all his thoughts and his all works. He is redefined and regrown towards a madness that allows his senses to perceive her even when her presence is yet to come.

She is the dawn and sunset. She is the rise of the lovely moon and twinkling star. She is everything. She is a creation of a new world. She is the new Earth. She is the one for whom this whole world conspires to whisper to make him think all about her. He finds her in everything. She is standing in crowd as if standing alone for him. She is alone and lost in his thoughts only. She has come out of his dream to love him and teach him to love her only.

A writer is no more a writer but a dreamer and so he knows the worst heart ache. His world ends there and after that he only breathes as if it is the last promise to live for her sake, to live just to tell the world that he has once perceive the softness and delicate touch of love that had once rattled his heart and make this world a wonderful place to live. Without her this earth holds no beauty and no reason to live longer but it is just breath which is left to continue and all the rest has died long back with her.

Such outcry of joy and sorrow is in the innate nature of an artist and such love and heart rending is the outburst in his writing. Writer is very romantic and very caring person. His love is the only source of living and the rest is a worldly affair.
