Our life has become a path of success, failure, jealousy, anger, frustration and many such things and silence and inner peace is something which is left for the books only. From dawn to dusk our mind is full of ideas how to earn more at any expense. Life is for living and living starts with more expenses and expensive life style. However in gaining all this we have forgotten to be calm, to be meditative.
Swami Vivekananda says: “We are what our thoughts have made us; so take care of what you think. Words are secondary. Thoughts live; they travel far.”
Our desire gives an idea for mind to think and our mind becomes a store house of cobweb of multiple ideas and emotions. It is very important to keep a close eye on our mind and learn to relinquish everything aside and learn to live.
Osho says: “Mediation is surrender. It is not a demand. It is not forcing existence your way. It is relaxing into the way existence wants you to be. It is a let-go.
Mediation can add value to our life. Get some time for mediation and when your mind learns to meditate soon you will cut its rich defendants:
- Improves Communication Skills
One must have noticed while speaking that when he or she is in anger words just slip out and everything moves into wrong direction. Anger overcomes your reasoning faculty of mind. Anger is a disturbing drop into your mind. When the mind is silent your words are within your control. As you know when the river is calm then its reflection is clearer. When the mind is calm, then the reflection of your personality is clearer. Meditation is the tonic for the mind that clears the cobweb of the mind, that drops the inhibitions and the barriers of the effective communication.
- Gives Clarity of mind
Mind is a thing that keeps on thinking. It is a place where new ideas and thoughts keep on growing. Sometimes emotions like frustration, anger, depression get a strong hold of it and mind fails to come to any decisions and conclusion. Mind just remains working and it seems things have become too heavy to cope with any further. Mind needs to be silent, to be in meditation. When mind is silent, mind gets things crystal clear. Then it is easier to take the right decisions which are nothing but a combination of intuition and intelligence that happens only in a calm state of mind.
- Nurtures Creativity
When mind is calm our thought gets time to see things clearly and understanding becomes easier. At such moment it is easier to be creative and natural. Meditation transports the mind into a new state where it is easy to write your personal thoughts and ideas in the creative form like poetry, drama or novel.
- Refreshes the Mind
In our life we need time to bath our mind afresh by going out on vacation to get rid of the humdrum of daily life and its extravagances. Meditation gives you an opportunity to cut off from all such things. It makes you calm, fresh and relaxed. It just takes you away from the rest of the world and your mind gets focused only on one thing or on the emptiness.
- Rejuvenates You
In this world of dissatisfaction and disturbance we are often burdened with several unwanted incidences and thoughts and it becomes difficult to shake it off. These things make our mind emotional garbage for years. Meditation helps to shake that off, feel rejuvenated and helps us move on.
- Spreads Happiness & Peace
As we know happiness begets happiness. A happy mind can make other person happy too. Meditative mind is peaceful, satisfied and full of positive thoughts that help in influencing others and finding new avenues in life.
- Develops a Pleasant Personality
In our day to day life we come across several people who seem to be a reactionary force, always in rush, angry as if ready to fight. Reaction makes you angry and anger is nothing but a half or temporary madness. Now a day more and more people are angry in life due to several reasons. Your mediation offers you a pleasant personality by allowing you to listen to others patiently and reply to them with patience. Such personal trait grows with mediation.
- Gives You an Unshakable Smile
One must have heard that smile costs one nothing but it can bring wonders in life. Your peaceful mind allows you to smile.
- Makes You a Master of Time
When your mind is silent you can learn things faster. This can bring some time of leisure or it can help you to earn more.
- Heals & Harmonizes
If you are in any emotional problems then start doing meditation and it will help you with healing and soon the mind will be calm, alert and totally contented.
